  • Function
    • In a "true" reflexive, the subject acts on itself:
      • Ana se critica. Ana criticizes herself.
      • Nos levantamos a las seis. We get (ourselves) up at six.
    • The Spanish reflexive construction has other applications as well. See reflexive construction.
    • Placement: right before or attached to end of a verb form (see placement rules).
